Dave Bull's purpose in writing Saved by God was to make clear to believers the magnitude of what God has done for them, for he believes that many have failed to grasp this. He says that it is not until we realise our own involvement at Calvary that we can possibly become complete Christians.

It is described as part one of a trilogy entitled Taught by God and I look forward to reading the next in the series. The book is short, divided into sections rather then chapters, each section preceded by several verses of Scripture, and would be a very useful gift for someone on an Alpha course or for a person on the fringe of the church, yet to make a commitment. Also good for someone whose faith has grown cold, or whose faith is under attack; in fact a useful book for any Christian to have on their shelves for reference for themselves or to help another. I found it easy to read, clear in basic doctrine and one I shall be happy to recommend to those attending our next Alpha course or enquiring about the Christian faith."
